Start each day of your holiday on a good note. The Gold Coast caffeine scene is overflowing with dedicated baristas, in-house roasters and conscious connoisseurs. The demand for good coffee post-surf, has ensured cafes and caffeine nooks are dripping with the goods from north to south.

SOUTHPORT

BLENDLOVE:  1/253 Ferry Rd, Southport.

For delicious raw-food treats with your coffee try this local favourite.

PERCY’S CORNER: 45 Nerang St, Southport.

Only a short walk from the aquatic centre is this cute cafe housed in a beautifully restored ambulance station.  They specialise in espresso, siphon, cold drip and pour over coffees.

BROADBEACH

NO NAME LANE:  Elizabeth Ave, Broadbeach

Under the Oracle building you’ll find a simple and tasty breakfast and lunch menu accompanied by great coffee made with two specially-roasted house blends.

ELK ESPRESSO:  Oasis Shopping Centre, Broadbeach

You can’t go wrong with a big cuppa from one of the Gold Coast’s most-loved and longest standing cafes.  This is coffee worth waiting in line for.

COOLANGATTA

BLACK SHEEP ESPRESSO BAA:  72 Marine Pde, Coolangatta

These guys are serious about seriously good coffee.  Add an acai bowl or bacon and egg roll and you’re all set for a big day of volleyball spectating.

CAFE D’BAR:  275 Boundary St, Coolangatta

Venture up Greenmount hill and be rewarded with an excellent espresso paired with spectacular views of Duranbah Beach.

 CURRUMBIN 

THE BEACH SHACK:  818 Pacific Pde, Currumbin

All day breakfast and awesome coffee…  Just what we sports fans need.

THE DECK CAFE:  794 Pacific Pde, Currumbin [NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED]

Look for the bright blue Merlo umbrellas at this beachside café and let their baristas serve you an exceptional expresso.

 NORTHERN GOLD COAST

THE GALLEY:  Beattie Rd, Coomera

A short hike from the gymnastics stadium you’ll find this cool café serving coffee and cake on a breezy balcony overlooking the Coomera River.

TERRARIUM:  141 Maudsland Rd, Oxenford

Tucked away in this northern diner is house-blend coffee served with home-made cakes and lashings of country-style hospitality.
