TERRACES RESTURANT, SHERATON GRAND MIRAGE RESORT

When it comes to local icons, Terraces perennially popular seafood buffet at Sheraton Grand Mirage is a deserving all-time favourite. With a jaw-dropping array of fresh and cooked seafood, salads and desserts on offer, your mouth will be watering as you wander the exquisitely decorated stations filled with prawns, Moreton Bay bugs, crabs and a seasonal array of seafood choices. No need to overload your plate though, as seconds, thirds, fourths and even fifths are welcome. Be sure to wear your stretchy pants for this feast!

OMEROS BROS

One of Gold Coast’s longest-standing family-run seafood restaurants, the multiple award-winning Omeros Bros spills out onto the super-yacht dotted boardwalk at Marina Mirage. Waterfront alfresco dining or inside seating is designed to suit all occasions and you can expect all your fresh seafood family favourites including fish and chips, calamari, scallops and seafood chowder plus freshly shucked oysters, live lobster and mud crabs plus selection of fish either filleted or whole. For the ultimate feast, spoil yourself by tucking into the famous Omeros Indulgence seafood platter, which is best shared between two.

MOANA RESTAURANT & BAR

If you consider yourself a sea-foodie, park yourself plate-side at Moana Restaurant & Bar. Influenced by the countries and islands that call the Pacific home and using a fusion of cultural and culinary techniques, expect flavoursome dishes that hero their delicate fresh seafood flavours. Try Polynesian favourite Ota ika tongan with raw snapper fillets marinated in lime, cucumber, capsicum, spring onion, coriander and coconut cream served with taro chips, or the Moana seafood special with natural oysters and fresh king prawns beside BBQ bugs and king prawns with grilled fish and calamari on rice with salad.

From pan seared scallops dressed in caramelised onion and apple purée to whole smoked rainbow trout with zesty lemon beurre blanc and micro herb salad, the food and vibe is effortlessly elegant. SEASCAPE RESTAURANT & BAR

It doesn’t get much better than basking in uninterrupted Pacific Ocean views while feasting on fresh succulent seafood, does it? But that is exactly what you can expect at Seascape in Surfers Paradise where the salty sea breezes sweep over its three levels including its glamorous roof top bar and coastal inspired restaurant. Treat yourself and a friend to the signature seafood platter or opt for slivers of sashimi to start before indulging in Pernod Bouillabaisse with juicy mussels, prawns and Moreton Bay bug. Is your mouth watering? Don’t worry, so is ours! This is one sublime spot on the Gold Coast you will want to dwell.

GLASS DINING & LOUNGE BAR

If you fancy some super yacht gazing to pair with exquisite marina views, Glass Dining & Lounge Bar will have you at hello. And while you settle in to “that view” cast a gaze across the menu peppered with tantalising seafood specialties including oysters fresh, Kilpatrick or dressed in chardonnay vinegar, chilli, shallot and dusted with salmon roe or opt for the hearty Mussel hot pot or Portuguese seafood stew. For smaller appetites, try the tempura battered bug or grilled scallops to start before sharing whole sole, grilled market fish, crispy Atlantic Salmon or a seafood platter for two. The wine list is as extensive as the menu – cheers to that!

YELLOWFIN SEAFOOD RESTAURANT

In the heart of Broadbeach and a skip away from the sea, Yellowfin serve what some regard as the best value seafood platter on the Gold Coast. For $149 expect chargrilled bugs, fresh chilled prawns, calamari, beer battered barramundi, scallops, clams, crab and grilled prawns plus natural oysters and an option to upgrade to add Kilpatrick oysters or include a lobster half at market price. But if platters are not your thing, you can also opt for a selection of fish of the day, seafood pasta, bugs and prawns in white wine and garlic sauce or keep it simple and order fabulous fish and chips.

GEORGE’S PARAGON SEAFOOD RESTAURANT

George’s Paragon Seafood Restaurant in Sanctuary Cove has achieved legendary status with local seafood lovers. They offer all day half-price dining and an extensive menu that sails its way from fresh oysters through to decadent whole lobster Thermidor to eye popping two-person seafood platters to share. You’ll find all your favourite Queensland crustaceans on the menu too including fresh prawns, mud and sand crabs and scrumptious Moreton Bay bugs plus seafood pasta, grills and hot and cold entrees to suit every budget and taste. Pack your appetite though, as this is one seafood feast you’ll want to leave plenty of room for.
