Here on the Gold Coast we’re settling into the second month of spring; the birds are chirping, the surf and sand are rolling and we’re getting ready to experience some of the greatest entertainment and sporting events around.

Wondering exactly what wonderful things are on at the Gold Coast in October? Well, ponder no more because we’ve got you covered. From the ultimate beach challenge to joyful musicians, fast cars, Halloween festivities and the Aussie great, Jimmy Barnes, you certainly won’t be short of a good time.

Here are the 7 best events to experience this October.

One of the most challenging endurance races in surf sports, Coolangatta Gold will take to the sands for another great weekend of racing and beach action. Make it a family affair and cheer on local ironman and woman heroes like Ali Day and Courtney Hancock in the gruelling 41.8km event, over (surf) ski, run, swim and board legs. Or make your own way to the finish line by entering as an individual (kids over 16 included), or as a team in the 41km long or 21km short courses.

Event is FREE to attend and spectate.
