Wondering what events the Gold Coast has on offer in June? We’re helping you out with our roundup of must-dos for you and the family – from free entry live music gigs and community festival events to local exhibitions, workshops and more!
COOLY ROCKS ON
If everything 50s, 60s and 70s is your thing, gather the family and head down to Cooly Rocks On between Wednesday 5th to Sunday 9th of June. With a fun-filled array of live music bands, rock and roll dancing events, fashion pageants and hundreds of classic and custom cars on display, this southern beachside festival creates a community hub for good ol’ family fun. As a completely free event to attend, the kids will also love the Sunday street parade down the main drag of Coolangatta (9.00-10.30am) and the Saturday Retro Art Workshops held at the Level Up Studio + Gallery in The Strand Shopping Centre – from 10.00-1.00pm.
As a first, the event will also play host to the Indian Motorcycle Riders Group National Gathering, where an impressive 300+ riders are expected to join the festivities and lead the Sunday morning Street Parade.
Traveller Tip: As a Gold Coast favourite that draws impressive daily spectators, our tip – to waste no time in getting your Elvis on – is to park your car at Tweed Heads State School and take the short walk in. Just a $10 flat rate for the day.
