If you’re looking for a spectacular start to 2019 and want to ring in the New Year in true Gold Coast style, then Surfers Paradise is the place to be. Leading up to the big day, the annual New Year’s Carnival will arrive in town on 27 December, bringing rides, slides and exhilarating attractions to the foreshore. Daily family fun and activities are held from 3pm – 9pm and are guaranteed to entertain both little and big kids, and on New Year’s Eve itself, the Surfers Paradise sky will experience a light explosion of more than 30,000 firework effects! Head on down to see why this is one of Queensland’s top NYE events.

8:30pm to 12:30am – Monday 31 December
Old Burleigh Rd, Broadbeach

I’m sure you don’t need another reminder about how quickly the year has passed, nor how fast NYE is approaching, so if you’re wondering how you’ll celebrate the big event, why not get amongst the pyrotech-party vibes at the Broadbeach Fireworks? Kurrawa Park and Pratten Park is your base for the evening’s festivities, with live entertainment and plenty of food options available onsite too. Tell Dad to get his esky organised early though, because this one gets pretty crowded and cosy! The Broadbeach sky lights up at 8:30pm (perfect for families and early-risers) and midnight.

7:30pm – 1:00am – Monday 31 December
Hamilton Ave, Surfers Paradise

You can quite literally spend New Year’s Eve sky-high at SkyPoint’s Havana Nights bash atop the Q1. The celebrations will have all the necessities needed for a first-class fiesta – we’re talking, champagne, canapés, salsa dancers, a Cuban band and fire twirlers. And it goes without saying that the Level 77 Observation Deck is going to serve up some of the most incredible views of the Coast’s NYE firework displays – so it’s a win, win.

7:30pm to 12:30am – Monday 31 December
Seaworld Dr, Main Beach

In a truly extraordinary light show held on the foreshore in front of five-star beachfront resort Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Main Beach will impress with a stunning fireworks display to welcome in 2019.
