Things are heating up here on the Gold Coast and our events calendar for September is yes… you guessed it, no different.
Gather the tribe and head to a range of top-notch spectator events from awe-inspiring sculptures and buskers, to beach football, the latest in caravans and loads more! No matter what you fancy, we encourage you to get out there and enjoy everything this great city has to offer.


Crafted Beer & Wine Festival Broadbeach

Back celebrating another fantastic year of great brews, the Crafted Festival brings over 150 beer and cider varieties from multiple Australian regions in honour of a top, quality drop. Be sure to stop by and say hello to our friends at Black Hops, Burleigh Brewing, Balter and Granddad Jack’s – some of the Gold Coast represented brewers and pop-up bars there on the day.

Held beachside at Kurrawa Park for all those 18+, gather your friends and family and immerse yourself in an afternoon and evening of culinary delights whilst taking in the all-day live music and outdoor entertainment. There’s even beer yoga for the athletic.

Beach Rugby Australia Festival

Kicking off the first week of September, Beach Rugby Australia and sponsor Fox Sports invites all football and sporting fans to witness the Beach Rugby Australia Festival – involving a thrilling, fast-paced game, held right on Kirra Beach. With both male and female games playing ‘5’ a side, based on modified rules of Rugby Union, Rugby League and Touch Football, it’s a spectator event you won’t want to miss.

Friday the 6th September will also see Aussie Dingos verse the Pacific Nations in the Kennards International Charity Event. Tickets ($59) include an auction, buffet lunch and a select group of former International Rugby greats as guest speakers.

Entry over Saturday and Sunday for spectators is FREE.

If you’ve ever wanted to become a motor or caravanning enthusiast (or you consider yourself already there), this is the event for you. As Australia’s newest outdoor lifestyle event, Outdoor X – thanks to Sanctuary Cove – will bring you the latest and greatest in motorhomes, 4×4’s, campervans, trailer boats and much more. Set amongst the beautiful Marina Village over three sensational days, this family-friendly interactive event is perfect for all adventure-seekers near and travelling in from afar. Free on-site car parking available.

Tickets start from $10 for adults and are FREE for children under 15 years of age.

Swell Sculpture Festival

Back by popular demand, SWELL Sculpture Festival is set for another huge year of over 50 large-scale contemporary sculptures to surprise and delight those of all ages. And what better way to appreciate the art form than right along the Southern sands of Currumbin Beach. During these ten exciting festival days, you’ll be able to get up close and personal with awe-inspiring works handcrafted by a mix of local, national and international artists – during the day or evening.

Free guided twilight walks and artists talks are available, with a range of other ticketed masterclasses on offer for both kids and adults, to help unleash that inner Picasso.

Entry to view and explore the sculptures on Currumbin Beach is FREE.

Gold Coast Gymnastics Australia Carnival

As Australia’s largest gymnastics participation event, National Clubs Gymnastics Carnival will see more than 4,000 competitors flock to the Gold Coast to contend across seven captivating Gymsports. This 18-day event is set to be held at Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre – a popular local sporting venue that played host to Badminton, Para Powerlifting, Weightlifting and Wrestling at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. All ages welcome.

Tickets start from $18 for adults and children under 4 years of age are FREE.

Surfers Paradise Kids Week

When it comes to great entertainment and fun for kids, Surfers Paradise Kids Week is pretty high on the list. Taking place during the September school holidays, kids and families of all ages will love the action-packed program Kids Week has on offer – from face painting, beach activities, virtual realities and pop-up market stalls. Did we mention you’ll get to meet your DC Comic heroes too? Yep! With a number of Justice League superheroes and villains dropping (and flying) by for daily feature stage shows and personal meet ‘n’ greets. #KA-POW!

Entry for both kids and adults is FREE.
