Passionate about their beer, Peta and Brennan Fielding of Burleigh Brewing Co. take great pride in using local ingredients and packaging products, employing thirty-five locals and supporting local charities. With beers named after famous Gold Coast wave breaks and surf culture, this is as local a brew as you can get. Head to Burleigh to sink a few among food trucks and live music on weekends.
GOLD COAST FISHERMEN’S COOPERATIVE
There’s nothing like prawns straight from the boat. Every night prawn trawlers, long line fishing vessels and a spanner crab boat operate off the Gold Coast, returning with a fresh catch to sell direct to the public from 7am. Check their website for news of the daily catch pulled in to Main Beach, along with recipes and tips for handling seafood.
THE GRAINGE JAMS
Paul Grainger grew up in Christchurch, surrounded by berry farms, yet jam was bought in a can. Handmade in small batches to retain its natural colour and flavour, The Grainge’s range of award-winning jams are made in Ashmore, used in our best cafés and also sold retail.
SILVERWOOD ORGANIC’S LAMHAM
Lamham -‘ham’ made from lamb – is naturally wood smoked resulting in a soft buttery prosciutto-like texture and a mild smoky flavour. Developed by Silverwood Organics as a specialty Christmas and Easter product, Lamham distributed from Burleigh Heads, is now in demand internationally.
WITCHES FALLS WINERY
Witches Falls is one of Queensland’s top wineries. Owner and winemaker Jon Heslop tells us that their award-winning wines, made from mostly Granite Belt-sourced grapes, are exported to Malaysia, Japan and China – all the way from mount Tamborine. Witches Falls’ complex barrel fermented Wild Ferment Chardonnay was served at the G20 Summit but you don’t have to be a notable to head up and do a wine tasting of your own.
WITCHES CHASE CHEESE
Established in 2004, a recent alliance with The Scenic Rim Robotic Dairy has seen Witches Chase Cheese source its milk from pasture-fed cows just a short drive away from their factory. With their range of cheeses all handmade without stabilisers or preservatives, Witches Chase cheese is a true artisan product and can be sampled onsite in Mount Tamborine.
‘Australian crafted, European heritage’ is the motto of Gotzinger, now a third-generation family-owned business. Employing a Swiss master butcher, there’s obvious pride in their craftsmanship, technique and products.

Re-establishing the relationship between farmer and baker has been a key factor in Brasserie Bread’s success. Using single origin flour from two specifically chosen sustainable farms, Brasserie Bread in Molendinar makes sixty-six lines of product. Their sprouted wheat sourdough was recently named the best sourdough in Australia.
