Australian PGA Championship

Be sure to score a prime position at the Australian PGA Championship as two‑time PGA TOUR winner Cameron Champ and Australia’s own Cameron Smith and Adam Scott take to the fairway, alongside a stellar list of Aussie and international players all competing for the Joe Kirkwood Cup. The tournament hosts an array of entertainment on and off the course, so come celebrate in the sun with great food, music and VIP experiences. There’s also the MyGolf Kids Carnival for your superstars in the making.

Big Bash Is Back

Australia’s summer of cricket hits the coast once again, with three KFC Big Bash League matches to look forward to at Metricon Stadium. The action unfolds when Brisbane Heat take on Melbourne Stars on 20 December, Melbourne Stars verse Adelaide Strikers on 27 December and Brisbane Heat battle Perth Scorchers on New Year’s Day. We’re taking cricket to a whole new level, with all your heroes out in force.

The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival

Live lavish and large as the Gold Coast comes alive for The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival. It’s the pinnacle of summer racing, with two weeks of fabulous fashion, star-studded entertainment and events that will get your heart pumping. Don your most fabulous outfit and kick off the celebrations at the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo on 5 January. Then make your way to our seaside playground at Surfers Paradise, as magnificent thoroughbreds send the sands flying at the Barrier Draw on 7 January. The excitement reaches fever pitch with the show-stopping main event – The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday on 11 January. Shake up that champagne!

Eurovision Australia Decides

The sequins, smoke machines and all-round spectacle of Eurovision kicks off on the coast, with Eurovision – Australia Decides. Over two big days, Australia’s best singers and songwriters will compete for the chance to represent our country at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest in the Netherlands. Join in the cheering crowds and sing along as audiences vote for their favourite acts, and blow the roof off during the live TV final on Saturday night.

NRL Harvey Norman All-Stars

Returning to the coast ten years after the inaugural contest at Cbus Super Stadium, the Australian Indigenous All-Stars are back to defend their victory in another epic match. Celebrate the power, passion and pride of the men’s and women’s teams, as they face off against the New Zealand Maori Kiwis in a modern tribal showcase of First Nations players proudly representing their cultures, in the NRL Harvey Norman All-Stars match.

Sand Safari Arts Festival

Transforming Surfers Paradise into a captivating exhibition of larger than life artworks, The Sand Safari Arts Festival is a wonderland just waiting to be explored. Don’t miss the festival’s main event, the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships, which unfolds over several days. Watch in awe as our golden sands are crafted into mind-blowing shapes and sculptures that spark the imagination.

Dig out the super-strength hairspray and fire up for an incredible night of show‑stopping vocals and iconic guitar riffs that will rock you to the core. That’s right. Queen is coming to the Gold Coast! Original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor are teaming up once more with longtime frontman Adam Lambert, to bring their new, spectacular Rhapsody Tour to Metricon Stadium in February.
