PCYC Queensland’s Indigenous Beach Touch Football Tournament.
Bunburra, the Yugambeh word for ‘beach’ is PCYC Queensland’s Indigenous beach touch football tournament that provides young boys and girls aged 14-17 from twelve Indigenous communities the chance to participate in an annual competition held on the Gold Coast.
Bunburra fosters sporting skills and leadership qualities and rewards motivated young people who are selected for their behaviour, and ongoing achievements throughout the year. It also provides the opportunity to meet in a context that supports pride, identity and achievement. Participants often develop the confidence and ability to play a key role in sports development and community engagement within their own communities.
