    Gold Coast Beer & Cider Festival

    The first annual Gold Coast Beer and Cider Festival will take place on 22 October 2022, within the grounds of the picturesque Broadwater Parklands, Southport. With an extensive array of beer, cider and gourmet food on offer, festival-goers will be spoilt for choice. The Schwartz Family Company is dedicated to supporting local communities and industry and is proud to be able to create such an event aimed at bringing together the best that the Gold Coast has to offer. With family-friendly activities, light entertainment throughout the day and so many taste sensations to choose from everyone is well catered for and more than welcome… they hope to see you there, this community event will be one to remember!

    Karen’s Diner Gold Coast

From the brave minds at Wonderland Bar & Beyond Cinema comes a diner like no other – expect rude service, singing waiters and regular guest appearances from the manager – the most Karen Karen ever – just don’t dare ask to see her! This is dining with a twist – the food is great, the service is ungrateful but your experience will be unforgettable.     High Cheese at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort

    For many, cheese is the glue that delicately holds our lives together. The team at Pearls Bar understand this lactose infatuation and has teamed up with Queensland’s own Kenilworth Dairies to create a high cheese filled with a slew of sumptuous sweet and savoury delights. From 4:00-8:00 pm every Thursday-Sunday, reserve a spot at Pearls Bar at The Sheraton Grand Resort in Main Beach and prepare to indulge. From $69 per person, soft-cheese lovers can sink their teeth into a truffle triple cream brie and oozing baked camembert with marinated figs and pretzel rolls. From there, hit the harder stuff and add a slice of 12-month-matured vintage cheddar, Kenilworth Blue or Malling red cheese to your artisan crackers and revel in the bold flavours. Sweet tooths will delight in the likes of roasted hazelnut Nutella cheesecake, berry mascarpone tart, port-poached figs with blue cheese crumble and candied walnuts, and a baked white-chocolate yuzu cheesecake. Those looking to elevate their experience further can choose to pair the high cheese with a gin or whiskey-tasting flight from some of your favourite Australian distilleries. Add three gins for an additional $17 per person, or warm-up from the inside out with three whiskeys for $20 per person. This dairy-filled feast is here for a good time, not a long time, so gather any fellow lactose-lovers and reserve yourself a table at this amplified high cheese experience.

    Gold Coast Beer & Cider Festival

    After being rudely interrupted by last year’s pandemic, theinaugural Gold Coast Beer & Cider Festival will now take place on Saturday October 22 2022. The festival will be staged in the Broadwater Parklands between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm, with more than 40 premium craft beer and cider producers and five distilleries expected to participate. The festival is being organised by the Schwartz Family Company, which has operated the Canberra Craft Beer & Cider Festival for over a decade, and the Hunter Valley Wine & Beer Festival. The festival is a family-friendly affair, with children under 18 allowed it free of charge to enjoy all of the kids activities on offer. Tickets will cost $20 per person for online pre-festival bookings or $30 per person on the day, giving access to a wide range of premium local and interstate craft breweries, gourmet food vendors, live music, and other festival activities. Individual tastings will be from $2 per 100ml tasting.

    Dogs on the Green Market: BONE-anza Weekend!

    Dogs on the Green is having a doggie BONE-ANZA weekend, with the market taking place over the whole weekend on October 22 and 23. Dogs on the Green is a fantastic event for humans and their doggies, with lots of stalls to treat your fur-baby. We are a free community market, showcasing a ‘furbulous’ range of products and services from local small businesses. Most stalls will change each day, so you can shop nearly twice as many stalls over the weekend! Get ready to shop at more than 80 stalls including a great selection of food and drink vendors, including coffee, bacon & egg rolls, slushees, iced tea, sweet options, vegan options and more.     Landscape Painting Class: Cherry Blossoms

    Looking for unique and crafty activities to get into on the Gold Coast? Join at Tamborine Mountain for a hands-on and relaxing day of painting at their new venue. In this class, you will spend two and a half hours learning how to create your very own oriental painted landscape, featuring the beautiful cherry blossom tree. This class only uses black, red and white paint on canvas, so you will learn how to mix with these colours and create different textures to get the depth of colour you want for your landscape. It is a step-by-step class that you will be guided through as you go, so even the most reluctant beginner will enjoy the session. Everything is included, plus access to the tools you will need to create your own masterpiece. For double the fun, bring along a lovely friend to craft and catch up with, or book as a group for a fun day out. You are invited to BYO your own platter and beverages for the class, or let them know if you need catering for a group and they can work with one of the cafes on their end for additional costs. We'll provide your child with everything they will need to make 2 x 250ml candles. They will be led through the process of creating their own masterpieces. For double the fun and savings, book them in with a lovely friend and enjoy a coffee with your friend while the kids have some fun. At the end of this hands-on class, your child would have made 2 beautiful candles to enjoy at home, decorated with gorgeous crystals and botanicals. At this time of year, it is advisable to wear very warm clothes and shoes as classes are held on the verandah. Heaters are provided on the verandah.

    The Grass Is Greener - Gold Coast

    One of Queensland's most adored music, food and art festivals The Grass Is Greener is growing in 2022 and has announced its long-overdue national expansion. The event will be kicking off at the Gold Coast then heading south to Canberra, then onto its birthplace Cairns, before journeying further south and finishing in Geelong. The Grass Is Greener quickly became the marquee festival in the Far North Queensland in 2016, the two stage event began to play a vital role in fostering local emerging Australian artists in regional centres alongside major Australian acts Amy Shark, All Day, Hayden James, Ocean Alley and spotlighting international hip hop artist Tyga when he was at the height of his career. This year, the festival will continue its pledge of creating memorable moments for regional punters with a considerable investment into the construction of each event. Multiple themed stages, adventurous activations and a renewed VIP package program that will provide festival goers with an unforgettable experience.     The Grass Is Greener

    North Queensland festival The Grass Is Greener is venturing south and bringing a lineup of stellar music acts to Main Beach on October 22. This colourful festival takes the Aussie backyard bash to the next level, bringing a slew of music high rollers together. While the official 2022 lineup is yet to be announced, past inclusions like Tyga, Ziggy Alberts, Peking Duk, Crooked Colours, Boo Seeka, Choomba and Jesswar have got us excited. If you’re keen to learn more, we recommend signing up for the waitlist so that you’re first to see the full lineup when it is released on June 16. From there, you can grab tickets and start prepping for yet another music-filled bash at the Gold Coast’s burgeoning festival hub, Doug Jennings Park.
