How time flies! The one and only Macy Gray has announced a celebration tour of Australia in July to mark the 25th anniversary of the release of her critically acclaimed debut album, On How Life Is.

Starting on Wednesday, 3 July in Hobart at the Odeon Theatre as part of the city’s Festival of Voices before heading to Adelaide (July 5), Brisbane (July 6), Melbourne (July 7), Gold Coast (July 9), Wyong (July 10), Canberra (July 11), Wollongong (July 12) and finishing up in Sydney (July 13), these concerts are a world-first and will commence with the whole On How Life Is album (in sequential order) followed by her catalogue of hits.

Macy said, “I’m over the moon to be celebrating the 25th anniversary of my debut album On How Life Is. First stop: Down Under! Me and the band will be live in Hobart, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Wyong, Canberra and Thirroul in July. Please join me for a big nite to remember!”

The name Macy Gray is synonymous with incredible music. The musical bodies of work Gray has produced throughout her career are a testament to her exquisite vision and unyielding devotion to her craft. Her sleek, sultry and mature take on R&B draws from decades’ worth of history, yet her ability to still sound forward-thinking and fresh is what reaffirms and reasserts her as a signature rarity in music who millions continue to treasure.

These concerts will be a celebration of the 25th Anniversary since Gray broke into the music scene in 1999 with the release of her debut, triple-platinum album, On How Life Is – the album that spoke to a generation. It turned Macy Gray into a household name, and Ms Gray into a powerhouse of R&B and Soul.

Over the past 25 years, Macy has amassed a devoted global fan base and sold over 25 million total albums around the world. A five-time GRAMMY® Nominee, Gray received the GRAMMY® Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance in 2000 for her iconic song, I Try, and has received two BRIT Awards.
