Somerset Storyfest Writers Festival
Book lovers and storytellers rejoice. The 30th annual Somerset Storyfest will see 30 of the country’s most celebrated authors, illustrators and artists converge on the Gold Coast, from Tuesday 28 to Thursday 30 March, to inspire the next generation of writers and avid readers. In between daily sessions with authors and book signings at the Book Shop, you can also revel in a series of special public events including the Prologue Party with special guests Bluey and Bingo, the annual Literary Lunch, Write and Sip and the annual Long Table Dinner.

2023 Gold Coast VolleySlam
Volleyslam 2023 will be held on the beautiful Coolangatta Beach in Queensland. This inaugural event will include three separate competitions, across ten days including The Australian Champiponships, the Australian Youth Beach the Australian Beach Volleyball Schools Cup.

Storyfest Prologue Party
Come along to the highlight of literary events on the Gold Coast. A fun-filled evening for all the family to celebrate their 30th year of reading and writing! The Prologue Party is a great opportunity to meet some of Australia's best authors and illustrators. Enjoy all the fun of the fair with games and activities. The festival bookshop will be open during this event, it is a great opportunity for adults and children to browse the bookshelf and find that perfect book. Undertow
Award winning theatre makers Shock Therapy Productions proudly present Undertow, an honest and powerful look at the hidden forces beneath the surface that move us and determine the choices we make and the actions we take. Centering around a high school community, the show follows three central characters, Jesse, Connor and Phil, as they each struggle to cope with the pressures of life while trying to manage relationships with the people close to them. Funny, moving, poignant and dynamic, Undertow is a two-actor tour de force of storytelling. Shock Therapy draw on a range of film conventions and physical theatre techniques to push their signature style in a new direction, blurring the line between different realities. The result is theatre that is fluid and inventive, sweeping you up as the story pulls you deeper.

Hump Day Comedy at Atrium Bar
Let off some steam with a good belly laugh, feast on a pizza and wash it all down with a brew or two at the Atrium Bar’s Hump Day Comedy. Presented by Gold Coast stand-up comedy and entertainment legends Based Comedy and brought to you by Byron Bay Brewery, each Wednesday will bring a new line-up of local and national comedians including the likes of Greg ‘Sully’ Sullivan and Lindsay Webb. This mid-week perk-up is free to attend, so gather your crew, settle into one of the comfy bean bags and sip a brew while you laugh. Hump Day Comedy will also see an exclusive menu filled with delicious cheap eats, including $10 pizzas, onion rings, wedges and salt and pepper calamari. Storyfest Write and Sip with Gold Coast Writers' Association
They are excited to announce Write & Sip, hosted at The Brooklyn Wine and Tapas Bar in Varsity Lakes. A twist on the Paint and Sip concept, we will present a fun and interactive session where participants learn to write a Flash Fiction story [up to around 500 words) using story templates. Dr Caroline Graham, Journalism Lecturer, joins the team from the Gold Coast Writers Association to present this exciting new element to their programme. Ticket includes welcome drink and nibbles.
