GOLD COAST SURF CLUBS TO GRAB A COLD ONE

GOLD COAST SURF CLUBS TO GRAB A COLD ONE

09 Nov 2017

Sinking a schooner at one of our iconic surf clubs should definitely be on your Gold Coast to-do list.  Our surf clubs are famous for well-priced food and drinks and laid-back vibes.  Plus, it doesn’t get much more ‘beachfront’ than a sunny surf club balcony.  Here are a few of our favourites:

RAINBOW BAY SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB

Take a dip at beautiful Rainbow Bay then make your way to the surf club, where you can settle on the open-air verandas to watch the waves roll in.  You might even catch a few pro surfers riding the world-famous Snapper Rocks break.  Relax with a few icy-cold beers and wait for the sun to set.  Bliss.

SOUTHPORT SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB

Southport SLSC overlooks beautiful Main Beach, the perfect set-up to enjoy a dip in the ocean then a relaxing lunch and a drink once you’ve dried off.  It’s a great place to sample local beers, with 12 on tap and a well-stocked fridge. Take your pick then sit and unwind as you watch the world go by.

CURRUMBIN VIKINGS SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB

Currumbin Vikings SLSC is perched right on the waters edge, making it an excellent spot to grab a nice cold bevvie and gaze at the stunning Currumbin Beach. Visit on Friday evening or Sunday afternoon to catch live music, or pop in on a weeknight to make the most of their great meal specials.

NOBBY BEACH SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB

Escape the midday heat and seek refuge in the cool, welcome interior of the Nobby Beach SLSC. With huge glass windows stretching the height of the bar and restaurant area, you’re treated to some of the very best beach views on offer. Get stuck into some fabulous seafood, then unwind with a few cold-ones while you watch the sunset.

THE SURF CLUB COOLANGATTA

Another fantastic spot on the Southern-end of the Coast is Cooly Surf Club‘s Beachside Bar, where you can take in sweeping views of the ocean from Snapper Rocks up to Surfers Paradise. Pop in for one of the 16 beers they have on tap then grab a bite at their award-wining restaurant. If you love live music, stop in on a Sunday afternoon.

SURFERS PARADISE SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB

If you find yourself wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise, make a bee-line for the local surf club.  Set just back from the beach, the club boasts iconic beach views that will impress out-of-town visitors and locals alike. Enjoy a drink in the Champions Bar or a delicious meal from the restaurant. If you love steak, be sure to drop in on a Thursday and tackle their T-Bone-Thursday special.

PALM BEACH SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB

Located right on the beachfront, Palm Beach SLSC offers a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere overlooking the beach. Get comfortable at a table on the covered deck and catch a bright pink and orange sunset, or stop in earlier for lunch and a nice cold beer while the sun is still high in the sky. Either way, you’ll love the views and fantastic food and drink on offer at great prices.

BURLEIGH HEADS SUPPORTERS CLUB

Burleigh Heads SLSC Supporters Club sits at the base of the picturesque Burleigh Heads National Park, smack-bang on the beach. The elevated restaurant offers uninterrupted ocean views all the way out to the horizon and the open air setting is perfect for soaking in the taste of summer with a cold beer or two.

KURRAWA SURF CLUB

Make the most of this picture-perfect spot by getting in early to nab a window-seat on the balcony.  The newly-renovated Kurrawa SLSC is great for relaxing, people-watching and breathing in the fresh ocean air. Visit Monday through Wednesday to scoop up a meal deal.
