When it comes to shopping on the Gold Coast, we put retail therapy right up there as one of our favourite things to do. Our shopping centres are as big as some of the fashion names they carry, but we have plenty of one-off boutiques to pop into too. And it won’t matter if you prefer to add one of the latest international designer pieces to your collection, hunt for some high-street fashion or pick out something local from one of our Australian fashion brands. Are there any outlet stores on the Gold Coast?Yes, and Australia’s largest outlet shopping centre to be exact. Not only will shopping at Harbour Town Premium Outlets make your dollars stretch that little bit further but you’ll be surprised by what you might find filling the sales racks. With names including Adidas, Coach, Kathmandu and Lacoste, Nike, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein, you’ll find plenty of bargains to fill up your shopping bags across fashion, footwear, underwear, cosmetics, beauty and homewares to take home. Numerous markets are help on the Gold Coast, offering everything from fresh farm produce, local craft and souvenirs plus fashion, food, jewellery, skincare, homewares, live music and more. Surfers Paradise Beachfront Night Markets bring colour and festivity to the foreshore every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 4pm - 9pm, while the Carrara Markets are the biggest permanent markets on the Gold Coast, operating every weekend. For the quintessential Sunday market, Gold Coast Art and Craft Markets operate at Broadbeach (1st and 3rd Sunday of the month), Burleigh Heads (last Sunday of the month), and Coolangatta (2nd and occasionally 4th Sunday of the month). The Village Markets in Burleigh Heads are held fortnightly and spending a morning browsing stalls, enjoying a bite to eat and listening to live music is a brilliant way to spend your time on the Gold Coast.

Are there any organic markets on the Gold Coast?Yes there are, and you will find them at Merrimac State High School Oval brimming with the most delicious local produce picked from local farms operating every Sunday from 6am - 11.30am. With certified organically grown produce, get in early to get your pick of seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables and mostly direct from the farmers that grew them. Parking is plentiful, but do bring your shopping basket, as you’ll always find more than you expect to take home here.

Where can I find boutique shopping on the Gold Coast?You’ll find plenty of pockets to shop boutiques on the Gold Coast, but one of our favourite streets is James Street, Burleigh, where a range of quality fashion, health, food, surf, art, craft and homewares stores flank both sides of the street. For higher-end boutique shopping, Marina Mirage at Main Beach is considered the best boutique shopping destination on the Gold Coast with a perfectly curated selection of stores to suit most tastes. Sanctuary Cove on the northern Gold Coast is also home to some beautiful boutique stores, plus plenty of places to sip coffee and sup on fine food in between sessions.

Where can I shop for vintage fashion?Shoppers are opting to find more sustainable ways to shop, and the Gold Coast is a treasure trove for scoring vintage finds. You’ll find second-hand stores scattered across our suburbs, and thrift markets popping up over the weekend. From the Cherry Pickers Rummage at Miami Marketta offering vintage, pre-loved, handmade and upcycled items, a retro-inspired rummage at Strange Days Store in Palm Beach that disco divas will love, Mo’s Desert Digs at Burleigh revealing when they will be setting up the vintage shop via Instagram, Dust Temple at Currumbin running a pre-loved rummage on the last Sunday of every month, and The Village Markets Rack Sale, a second-hand spectacular specialising in pre-loved designer clothing hosted once a month.
