Mercuries Life Insurance Taiwan 2023

SUNSHINE AND KOALAS ARE JUST THE BEGINNING

When Mercuries Life Insurance Taiwan began planning a trip to reward their highest-performing team members, the Gold Coast was the stand-out choice.

With 30 groups arriving over a period of four months from September to December 2023, itineraries had to be locked in to ensure every delegate received the same experience. This required top-notch communication and cooperation between organisers and vendors to deliver a seamless and truly rewarding outcome.

Mercuries Life Insurance needed a destination that could deliver:

  • Australian native wildlife
  • Unique experiences
  • Sunny weather
  • Good connectivity
  • Personal safety
  • Generous opportunities for shopping

Gold Coast is one of the cultural melting pots of Australia. After visiting Australia, I feel it’s a lovely and friendly country.

CREATING AN AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE

A ‘huge’ 2500 members of the Mercuries Life Insurance family were welcomed to the Gold Coast to enjoy an expansive program of activities – a reward for all their work throughout the year.

Organisers visited the city in person to create a bespoke itinerary, meeting with suppliers to build enduring relationships. Guests were treated to a wide variety of once in a lifetime experiences, designed to give an ‘authentic’ flavour of Australian life and the Gold Coast’s unique landscape.

From pelican feeding and a chance to see Australia’s largest population of glow worms, to the wild beauty of Burleigh Head National Park, the trip included tours of the city, a breathtaking boat trip and a birds-eye view of the coast from the dizzying heights of Tamborine Mountain.

From the scenic to the thrilling, a trip to the Gold Coast wouldn’t have been complete without that illustrious theme park trio - Paradise Country, Movie World and Sea World. Add to that the chance to discover what it takes to make Australian wines ‘stand out’, and all that was left was those essential shopping trips to Harbour Town’s premium outlets and one of Australia’s largest shopping malls, the mecca that is Pacific Fair.

The private yacht docked at the was a stunning scene with the dazzling sunset. To sum up, the sightseeing trip on the Gold Coast totally met our expectations.

‘IMPRESSIVE’ GOLD COAST TOP OF MIND FOR FUTURE TRAVEL

Two major airports - Brisbane and Gold Coast Airport – made transit a breeze for delegates, who were delighted to be spared the traffic congestion of Sydney and Melbourne. Once safely installed on the coast, a light rail station right outside their accommodation at Voco Gold Coast meant that, in their free time, guests could easily explore all that the city had to offer.

While the Gold Coast may initially have come up trumps on ‘location, location, location’, organisers say that the region continued to deliver so much more. Harvest Buffet at the Star Gold Coast was a case in point - perfect for large groups, its buffet format was a culinary adventure offering dishes to suit every taste.

The ‘impressive’ glow worm tour in Cedar Creek Estate Vineyard & Winery left its mark on delegates, as did the general ambience of Australia’s favourite holiday destination, delivering an ‘extremely relaxing feeling’ hand-in-hand with everything from casinos and amusement parks to award-winning wineries and atmospheric night markets.

I have to say the sunny weather on the Gold Coast should be listed as one of its advantages. Warm but not sweltering; definitely perfect to be sun-kissed at the beach all day.
