Wrap Up 2022 With These Epic Gold Coast Events

The Gold Coast's event scene is absolutely firing for the remainder of 2022. Over the next few months, it's going to be a cracking good time for old and young, ready to have some fun. It's on in the fields, under the stars, at theme parks, music festivals, in the streets, stadiums and on the sand. So get out, get amongst it and enjoy all the incredible Gold Coast events on offer. 

Groundwater Country Music Festival

Giddy up because the Groundwater Country Music Festival is rolling into the city with the best country music stars on top billing. This October you’ll have the chance to see Broadbeach host a huge three-day festival for free. How good! Get grooving to the Freight Train Foxes, Andrew Farriss, Michael Carpenter and the Banks Brothers, Dan Davidson, Gina Jefferies, Whistle Dixie and Tony Q to name but a few. Headliner, Fanny Lumsden (an eight-time Golden Guitar winner!) is bound to be a show stealer too. Groundwater is an accessible festival and all abilities can join in the fun.
When: October 28th – 30th

Festival X

Dance, trance, deep house, electro jams, drum and bass beats and just maybe some casual trip-hop treats will be blasting thick and fast at Festival X. International DJ juggernaut aka Calvin Harris will lead an all-star line-up featuring the likes of Megan the Stallion, Franky Rizardo, Laura King, Sunset Bros and Don Toliver. This is not to be missed Gold Coast gig, so you best jag your tickets quick. Taking place at Alabaster Sports Field in Carrara, we promise it’s going to be an absolute banger!
When: November 27th

Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500

The GC 500 sees the Supercars return to the Gold Coast streets and light it up on the world-class Surfers Paradise circuit. Which driver will take to the podium, get showered by a magnum of bubbly and collect the winning prize this year? All will be revealed come the weekend of October 28th-30th. It’s not just the race that gets your heart thumping, in fact, there’s loads of off-track entertainment to get the party pumping. This is one of the Gold Coasts’ biggest events and after a three-year hiatus, it’s bound to be the biggest and best GC 500 yet. 
When: October 28th – 30th

Pan Pacific Games 2022

The Gold Coast’s famous celebration of masters sport returns, showcasing competition in more than 40 sports at some of the world’s best sporting facilities and an amazing entertainment program at the Games Village (Kurrawa Park, Broadbeach). Thousands of competitors from all over the globe will converge on the Gold Coast from 4-13 November, to participate in the Pan Pacific Masters Games. Be prepared to witness amazing achievements and sporting milestones from athletes of all shapes and sizes, ages and walks of life participating in games of basketball, baseball, gymnastics, tennis, netball diving, cycling and cricket. It’s all about having fun, experiencing new and different sports and sharing your love for sport with other sport-enthusiasts. This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate achievements, dance to the live entertainment, socialise with teammates, friends and family and enjoy the camaraderie for which the event is renowned.

Coolangatta Gold

The Coolangatta Gold is a prestigious surf life saving event and one of the most challenging endurance races in surf sports. All the action takes place on the Gold Coast's pristine seaside (Broadbeach to Coolangatta) and features a combination of competition legs including swimming, running, board paddling and surf skiing. This iconic Gold Coast event first kicked off in the 1980s and to this day continues to draw a huge field of elite male and female competitors. Tip: get to the beach early as racing starts at 7:30am.
When: October 15th – 16th

Urban Sport Fest

Keen to see the world’s best BMX riders at the BMX Freestyle World Cup? If so, you’re in luck! This fun festival lands at the Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre from the 9th-11th of December. But it’s not just the adrenaline-charged BMX riders acting as drawcards - this energetic extreme sports weekend is combined with a three-day music festival. Aside from the rad bands and crazy BMX tricks to see, families will love the daily activities here such as skateboarding and parkour demos. Plus, there’s stacks of great food on offer too. Urban Sport Fest is ticking all the boxes for a fun-filled, weekend on the Gold Coast.

Gold Coast Open House

Does stylish architecture impress you? How about the allure of perfectly landscaped urban spaces? Ever thought about how buildings can work to compliment the natural environment? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then the Gold Coast Open House extravaganza will be right up your alley. This specialised Gold Coast event incorporates walking tours to spaces and places that shape our city, expert panel discussions, photo competitions and architect-led building (contemporary and historical) visits. Fact: well-designed cities are known to improve people’s lives. Come along and take a look inside the minds and the structures that make the Gold Coast Open House event a highly commendable affair.
