    FLUFFY

FLUFFYThis immersive family show is a free play environment for audiences of all ages. Matching imagination, art creation and physical performance with joyful mountains of recycled shredded paper. The audience throw, stick, roll, crunch, rip and build characters, lands and stories of their own. They explore multiple sculptural landscapes, some soft and ethereal, others wondrous, magical and energetic. Fluffy’s interactive wonderland of 200kg of swirling, fluttering paper is part narrative, part make-your-own adventure. Performers lead spontaneous stories, quirky interruptions and help the audience build an evolving communal sculpture work along the way. Kids can hunt for unboxed gifts revealing clues and materials to start new stories, and grapple with thousands of paper fragments blown into the air.  Fluffy’s mix of theatre, visual art and confetti-filled playground will hopefully inspire hands-on creativity, a sense of awe and human connection.  We aim to upend rules about creating mess and touching art, particularly for children whose impulse in a gallery space may be to stroke sculptures or brush a curious hand across paintings. In Fluffy, there is no choice but to play when the floor, walls and sculptures are covered with shredded paper!  Ultimately, Fluffy explores how art can bring different generations of a family together and discover something new about each other.  Fluffy makes the recycling process magic by reusing, and transforming waste paper brought in by families into performance and art before sending the paper on its way to be composted. Experience Fluffy’s joyful, playful and beautiful mess where the physical laws of this universe don't exist and Fluffy Logic reigns supreme.  Ages 4-12 Presented by HOTA, Home of the Arts.
