Reverie Theatre Company Presents 'The May Queen'

COST: $32The May Queen, by Reverie Theatre Company, is a fun, dark, and surprising office comedy. It’s an engaging portrait of five small-town characters who all work in the local insurance agency and whose lives remain interconnected. For Jen Nash, being crowned the May Queen of her High School was a trauma from which she’s never recovered. The gossip mill kicks into high gear when she returns home under mysterious circumstances, seeming a husk of her former self. Everyone has a theory about where she’s been. She hides out in her parents’ house and takes a temp job at the insurance company with her new coworkers: the Zumba-addicted Gail, and bookish nerd Dave. But when Jen finds that her former high-school flame, Mike, is the star salesman at the insurance company, she won’t be able to keep her secrets for long. A hilarious and touching play that’s ‘The Office’ meets ‘Mean Girls’. Please note Level One Seventeen is only accessible via stairs. The venue is BYO drinks and snacks.

    BREAK by The Farm

BREAK by The FarmExperience this raw and expressive new work from our city's own dance company, The Farm. Blending dance, theatre and circus, Break is an intimate experience and a rare chance to see a performance in 'doors closed mode' inside the Outdoor Stage. Ceci travelled the world for many years as a successful acrobat but after a series of accidents and botched surgeries, the career she had carefully created fell to pieces. Now she’s angry, defiant and intensely confused by what to do next. But that won’t stop her because she knows we all need to question the recklessness of our ambitions. Intensely personal and raw, Break is an autobiographical work that investigates how we define ourselves and how we recover when our dreams are shattered.
