Comedy Underground | Aidan Jones
PianoforteAidan grew up playing classical piano. People always said he should use it on stage, but he hates musical comedy. This show isn't musical comedy, it's music AND comedy. No "funny" songs, just good jokes, and Aidan playing Chopin's Nocturne in Eb Major, which is not funny at all. ‘Punchlines that will leave you laughing for days on end… this is what an extremely well-crafted comedy set looks like. ★★★★★’ Adelaide Advertiser‘One of the cleverest minds on the Aussie comedy circuit. ★★★★½’ The West Australian‘He’s a masterful storyteller… effortless charisma, disarming honesty and a sharp, curious mind.. ★★★★’ The AgePresented by Based Comedy

Stunt DoubleStunt Double is a jaw-dropping immersive theatre experience bringing audiences inside the filming of a 1970s Aussie action flick. Cycling through take after take of high octane stunts; flips, jumps, fights and more; the doubles put their body on the line while the actors reap the glory. In Stunt Double, it’s the hardest working people who get paid the least and exploited the most. Sound familiar? Well that’s because some things never change. The show is a hilarious tongue in cheek dive into the complex and absurd power dynamics of the film industry, into exploitation as a blood sport; and the human cost of celebrity and our quest to come out on top. Inspired by films such as Wake In Fright, Razorback and BMX Bandits, Stunt Double is sure to be an unforgettable ride, and yet another genre-bending blockbuster by groundbreaking dance and theatre collective, The Farm. Make a night of it!Immerse yourself in the 70s with live music pre and post show! Join us for a terrace party after the show to celebrate The Farm’s 10th birthday. Dress to impress 70s style, as we're giving away prizes for the best outfits, offering you a shot at winning a dinner for two at Palette and a one-night stay at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa. Want to be part of the show? Watch this space for our callout, as we'll soon be seeking volunteers to feature as extras, gaffers, clappers, art department, and more; placing them up close and personal with the actors and their extraordinary stunt doubles. Stunt Double is produced by Performing Lines. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government’s Major Festivals initiative, managed by the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body, in association with Darwin Festival, Brisbane Festival, Perth Festival and HOTA. It is further supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland, as well as City of the Gold Coast. Presented by HOTA, Home of the Arts and The Farm
