    Frequently Asked Questions

    • In partnership with some of the best booking names in the business, we suggest keeping an eye on sites such as Booking.com, Lastminute.com, Wotif and Expedia for securing the best deals on Gold Coast accommodation. As an alternative, most accommodation providers do offer their best rates when you book direct, so subscribe if you have a favourite, and don’t forget to subscribe with us too - as we are usually one of the first to know if someone is having a sale. For airlines, their deals are often released first over social media so follow and sign up to Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin to see sale prices when they first drop.
    • You’ll find savings year-round on Gold Coast theme park tickets by checking out their websites direct and by bundling multi-visit and multi-park passes to secure a better deal. If you are a member of an automobile club, you may also be entitled to discount tickets, so check with your service providers who will have a list of ways you can save. Subscribing is a good way to ensure you are always offered the best deals for any activities you are interested in on the Gold Coast, including discount theme park tickets.
    • With a huge range of accommodation on offer on the Gold Coast, you can always find somewhere suitable with the family in tow, but by being a bit savvy, there are plenty of ways to save on family accommodation by considering all options - including caravan parks. You’ll find some of our Gold Coast caravan parks sitting right beside the sea, adjacent to popular swimming and dining areas and close to theme parks too. Offering cabins, safari tents and sometimes on-site vans you can hire if you don’t have your own, you’ll find they are a great option for a budget family stay on the Gold Coast.
    • There are plenty of free things to do on the Gold Coast. From swimming at some of the best beaches in the world (which doesn’t cost a cent!), to taking a walk or a bike ride beside the sea on the Gold Coast Oceanway’s 36 kilometres of shared cycle and pedestrian pathways, or enjoying one of our many free parks. You’ll find quality playground equipment, clean public amenities close by and clean drinking water to fill up your drink bottles too. Whale watching from any of our headlands during whale season (June - November) is free, and so is exploring the myriad trails that weave through our magical Gold Coast Hinterland and free National Parks.

    • Yes, plenty of places offer affordable meals that won’t break the budget on the Gold Coast. From grabbing a piping hot parcel of fish and chips from one of our local seafood shops and tucking in beside the sea to filling up your basket at our farmers' markets, where fresh local produce, homemade breads, cakes and pastries plus quality meats can be sourced at an affordable price. Eating out - we have plenty of restaurants that offer kids' menus and often, kids get to eat free beside a paying adult. Our surf clubs are considered family-friendly and affordable options for dining as are our host of bakeries that serve a delicious range of baked goods from sausage rolls, pies, cakes, breads and more.
    • You’ve come to the right place for finding affordable fashion, as the Gold Coast is home to Australia’s largest outlet centre – Harbour Town Premium Outlets, where you will find discounts off regular retail prices of up to 60%. With many of Australia’s best brands in surf, sports, womens, mens and kids fashion, plus footwear, homewares and pharmaceutical where you can get discounted make-up and perfumes, you’ll be spoilt for choice at Harbour Town. And to save further, you can jump on the free Harbour Town Shuttle Bus that leaves from Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise twice a day during school holiday periods. For other places to save on fashion, Gold Coast markets operate at Surfers Paradise, Burleigh and Coolangatta (see website for dates) for a more affordable way to shop. And there are op shops (charity shops) in many suburbs where you can shop quality recycled fashion.
