There are 300 days of beautiful sunshine on the Gold Coast each year. As for the other 65 days… well, there’s no guarantee for perfect beach weather. But fear not… if you encounter a few rainy days during your stay, you don’t have to wait for the sun to come back out. There are loads of activities to keep you entertained rain, hail or shine! Here are some suggestions:

BOUNCE INC TRAMPOLINE PARK

BOUNCE Inc Trampoline Park Gold Coast is a massive adrenaline zone full of wall-to-wall trampolines. Located in Burleigh Heads, there are various zones to suit everyone and it’s a great place to take the restless kids to bounce about and get some energy out of their system (especially when they haven’t been able to run around outside for a while!). Parents can even sit back and watch all the fun from the mezzanine level cafe.

ESCAPE HUNT

The Escape Hunt Experience Gold Coast is the first live escape game on the Gold Coast where, as a team, you gather clues and solve puzzles in order to solve the mystery and escape the room. It is exciting, challenging, educational and fun for all ages and ability levels.

ZERO LATENCY VR

The Gold Coast’s first free-roam virtual reality (VR) experience, get along to Zero Latency Gold Coast in Southport where you and your friends will be battling a zombie apocalypse, exploring mystical places and searching for a power source called ‘Sol”. Along with plenty of other games on offer, the experience is for 13-year-olds and over (or 10-12 year-olds with a playing parent), and wearing your backpack and controller, this multiplayer game can take up to 8 players in an open warehouse arena with no walls, allowing you to change games seamlessly.

LEVEL UP ARCADE

Did someone say 80’s inspired arcade? At the newly opened Level Up Arcade in the Oasis Shopping Centre (level one) in Broadbeach, immerse yourself amongst all the action with state-of-the-art amusement games like 3D ping pong to pinball classics like Donkey Kong, Jurrasic Park and more. It’s 400 square metres of pure gaming fun.

RIPLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT!

Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Odditorium offers 15 individually themed galleries of 350 genuine artefacts, remarkable relics and rare treasures from around the world as well as cool and interactive exhibits. Keep out of the rain and embark on a self-guided adventure (across almost 9,00 square feet) filled with amazing stories of history and adventure, mystery, illusions, and life-size figurines of unusual characters that actually lived.

HOLEY MOLEY MINI GOLF & STRIKE BOWLING BAR

Holey Moley is the ultimate mini-golf challenge located in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Tee up 18 unique and crazy holes across a range of multi-sensory labyrinth of indoor rooms, including clowns and The Simpsons. There’s also a private karaoke room and over 18’s can enjoy a full-service bar. Did we mention it’s also located within Strike Bowling Bar precinct? Equipped with several ten-pin bowling lanes, pool tables and a gourmet food menu to boot.

INFINITY

Located in the Chevron Renaissance Centre in Surfers Paradise, this futuristic attraction provides you and your family with a unique journey into maze-like worlds of wonder with a series of multi-sensual environments. Each Infinity room is filled with special effects, atmospheric sound fields, groovy music and spectacular illusions. It’s fun for all ages over 8 – and a great way to forget all about the weather outside.

GAME OVER

Game Over has three adventure activities under the one roof. Find the need for speed with indoor karting at the first electric-powered karting centre in Australia; challenge yourself with the Clip ‘n’ Climb artificial climbing walls or battle it out in the 240m2 high-tech laser tag arena. You can have your pick of any one of their awesome activities and still stay indoors.

SLIDEWAYS GO KARTING GOLD COAST

Slideways European style indoor Go Karting track at Nerang is the perfect way to stay indoors while getting your adrenalin pumping! The unique track surface is like no other in the Southern Hemisphere, allowing the karts to drift around. You can’t go past this old family favourite, with all the best games like racing, bowling and basketball (plus the other 300!). Not to mention several awesome activities all under the one roof like laser skirmish, bumper cars, mini golf and bowling. Timezone is loads of fun for all ages, so there’s no doubt that the games will keep the kids happy and entertained on a rainy day.

SURF WORLD 

Surf World Gold Coast in Currumbin is Queensland’s only surfing museum. The exhibition includes an extensive collection of surfboards highlighting the evolution of design and technology from the early 1930s to today. There’s also amazing artwork, photography and memorabilia. Learn about the history of Queensland’s surfing and beach culture and check out galleries of today’s surfing champions.

SUPERBEE HONEY WORLD

Superbee Honeyworld is the home of live bee shows and a large range of honey and beehive products. Witness the amazing process from flower to flavour and enter a fascinating glass room where you can see tens of thousands of bees at work. Watch honey being extracted from the frame of the honeycomb and learn about its medicinal benefits. You can even taste different varieties of pure Australian honey the bees produce for free or you’re your own beeswax as a unique souvenir.
