    Carols in Coomera

    Who’s excited for the most magical time of the year? On Saturday December 16 be prepared to sing your heart out at the Carols in Coomera. Bring the whole family along to the Coomera Sports Park to enjoy all the Christmas classics, as well as a festive kids show for the little elves in your life. Devour your favourites from the delicious food trucks and let’s not forget the big man himself, Santa, who is extra excited for the short trip – from the North Pole to the Northern Gold Coast! This FREE, family friendly event is presented by City of Gold Coast.

    Carols on the Beach

    Do you hear what I hear? Carols on the Beach is returning to the sands of Surfers Paradise on Sunday 17 December! Matty J had such a merry time last year that he’ll be coming back, this time with Laura to be your joyful hosts! Your all-time favourite Christmas carols will be performed in a 2-hour jolly celebration of song and dance by an all-Aussie line-up with one special international guest, travelling all the way from the North Pole and to top the night off, there’ll be a sparkly fireworks finale! Carols on the Beach is a free family friendly event that that kicks off at 6pm, why not make a weekend of it with a staycation or book the family in for dinner at one of the mouth-watering Surfers Paradise restaurants. Ride the G to Cavill Avenue or make your journey active and walk, ride, scoot or skate to the event (Santa will take the sleigh). What a bright time, it’s the right time, to rock the night away at Carols on the Beach, presented by City of Gold Coast and supported by McDonald’s and 90.9 Sea FM.     Ballun Gawrehma: River Stories

    Ballun Gawrehma: River StoriesJoin local Kombumerri man Lann Levinge for an immersive story telling experience for schools. Multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer, director and creative designer, Lann guides you through culturally significant sites, sharing local history passed down by elders. Starting at Wulabora, a sharing and gathering space celebrating Kombumerri history, you'll delve into family stories, local history, Jenny Graham and the Keeper of the Light, interwoven with dreamtime tales and environmental wisdom. The sensory experience also involves interaction with tangible indigenous artefacts, clothing, weapons, tools and immersive soundscapes captured and composed by Lann. ‘I’m loving the journey and path that I’m on, discovering new ways to help and develop a new generation of language and cultural warriors, creating awareness of and connecting indigenous culture, especially the Kombumerri ways and the Yugambeh Language, to everyone through visual art, music and dance.’  This 45-minute experience can be tailored to your curriculum focus and age of students, contact education@hota.com.au to discuss further.     2024 Cooly Classic & Gold Coast Swim Week

    It’s official, the Gold Coast is now home to Australia’s largest swimming festival! Gold Coast Swim Week is a week-long celebration of swimming that sees two existing major events join forces, plus leading coaches and special guests hosting clinics and training sessions at Gold Coast beaches and pools. On Sunday April 21, the Cooly Classic - a rare opportunity to swim a course with some of Australia’s most revered surf breaks as your backdrop – Snapper Rocks, Coolangatta and Kirra. There are four distances, from 1km to 5km, but it’s always the 2.0km Cooly Classic from Snapper Rocks to Kirra Beach which attracts the masses. Your Start line, Snapper Rocks, is one of the world’s most famous surf breaks. Then, your course is a straight line to Kirra Beach, passing Rainbow Bay, Greenmount and Coolangatta Beaches as you swim. On the following weekend, Sunday April 28 , Swim the Gold Coast, a marathon distance for individuals and teams that starts at Burleigh Heads and finishes at Surfers Paradise. Throughout the week, there’ll be a range of small group sessions and clinics with guest coaches. This is a chance to receive specialist coaching and also swim with local squads at some of the Gold Coast’s favourite open water training locations.

    Free Baby Massage Demonstration for Parents

    The Infant Massage Information Service will be holding free demonstration sessions on infant massage for parents throughout Australia in 2024. The sessions will cover a massage demonstration as well as discussions on appropriate oils to use for massage time, when and how long to massage for, and the benefits of massage for infants. Baby massage can decrease crying and improve sleep. U.S research has also shown that massage strengthens the immune system in addition to providing a wide range of additional physical and psychological benefits. Infants are invited to attend the session with their parent/s and expected parents are also welcome to join in. Limited spaces are available, and parents must reserve a position to attend.     In The Raw Trail Run

    An exciting yet hilly 15km and 25km trail running event held in the beautiful Numinbah Valley on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The race also doubles as Round 1 of the Triple Crown Trail Series! 2024 again sees the final round f Flirt with Dirt held in conjunction with In the Raw; introducing rising stars and newbies to a true trail experience. A perfect end to the short-course season or a dream start for the longer stuff coming up in the year; In the Raw has a fun course, at a great venue, with terrific on course camaraderie to boot. Not to be missed.

    Wild Earth Border Bolt Running Festival

    Bouncing out of the blocks on debut in 2022, the Border Bolt is back and takes you on back onto the bumpy but beautiful border trails in Currumbin Valley. With no less than 4 race distances to choose from; ranging from 6km & 13km, through to the 22km and 31km events form Round 2 in our Triple Crown Trail Series. A great stand-alone run or ideal prep for Coastal High; just 4 weeks later. The Border Bolt showcases the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland, yet starts and finishes by our world-famous beaches!
