Little ArtLab | Landshapes!Create a powerful, coloured landscape inspired by the vision of artists David Hockney and Bridget Riley, whose works are currently showing in A Bigger View at HOTA. Like Hockney we will use vibrant, imaginative colours, combined with Riley's use of geometry and repetition to create a horizon which will form the base of our scenes. Children must be accompanied by an adult or carer and cannot be left unsupervised at any time, thank you for your understanding.

Wild Earth Border Bolt Running Festival
Bouncing out of the blocks on debut in 2022, the Border Bolt is back and takes you on back onto the bumpy but beautiful border trails in Currumbin Valley. With no less than 4 race distances to choose from; ranging from 6km & 13km, through to the 22km and 31km events form Round 2 in our Triple Crown Trail Series. Dreamworld Fun Run
Dreamworld is thrilled to announce that early bird registrations are officially open for the highly anticipated 2024 Dreamworld Fun Run. Scheduled to take place on Sunday 4th August, this year’s event promises to be bigger, better, and more colourful than ever before with the park extending on last year’s event. Since its launch in 2021, the Dreamworld Fun Run has become a marquee event in the Gold Coast running calendar, featuring a unique experience with characters, colour, water pistols, wildlife, and plenty of entertainment on offer. This year, Dreamworld will open the event to more registrants than ever before, following the sell-out demand of last year. The 2024 Dreamworld Fun Run will feature the popular 2km Junior Dash and the exhilarating 5km Fun Run, where attendees can look forward to a day filled with fun, entertainment, and the chance to make an important difference. Salsa in the Park is an event open to everyone and it is free. It is held at The Porch in Broadwater Parklands, Southport. DJs will play a variety of latin music to keep everyone dancing. There will be a free dancing lesson, followed by two and a half hours of social dancing dancing, or sit, relax, watch and enjoy the music and dancers go about their pace.

Do your kids want to go fishing but you’re not sure what to do? Want to learn how to fish, but feel uncomfortable about it? Send them along and they will take care of all the tangles, while they learn alongside other kids or families in the same boat. 2 Bent Rods will ease everyone into fishing with this fun and educational activity. Classes are very hands-on, everyone will be shown how to use the equipment and receive help to correct their technique. Kids and families will learn to read the beach, catch bait with yabby pumps and a bait net, tie a fishing knot, cast a rod and hopefully land a fish. They will pick up plenty of tips to help make their next fishing adventure more successful. This class is for both kids and families. All bait and fishing equipment provided. Bookings are essential.

Improv: Fun and Games
Think on your feet! Learn how to face your fears of being in front of an audience! Enhance your skills to think outside the box and learn how to be funnier! In this seven-week improvisation course by Blah Blah Blah Improv, you’ll have fun learning how to make up short comedy sketches on the spot. You’ll also get to play some of the hilarious theatresports games made famous by the hit improv show Whose Line Is It Anyway?. Over seven weeks, you’ll learn ways to: Embrace failure Be in the moment Be a better listener “Yes, and?” (work with other ideas) Run with your first instinct Create whole comedy scenes from a small suggestion Be a supportive team player Connect with others It doesn’t matter if you've previously performed, because we create a supportive and inclusive community in our classroom that feels safe and is loads of fun! Some people learn improv to become better at auditions or stand up comedy, while others learn improv to apply the techniques socially or at work. Whatever your reason for learning improv, you’ll learn techniques that will increase your awareness and skills that could enhance other areas of your life. There’s no preplanning or scripts—so get out of your head, be in the moment, and have some fun with them!
