Cooly Goes Country - James Blundell, Jade Holland & Guests

COOLY GOES COUNTRY JAMES BLUNDELL There are many terms people use when describing James Blundell. Icon. Legend. Controversial. Rebel. The truth is - James Blundell is all of these things. He is unashamedly honest and comfortable in his own skin. He radiates an enthusiasm for everything that life has to offer and it’s this authenticity that makes him one of the most instantly likable and recognisable artists in Australian music.  Acknowledged by many as the act that single-handedly shaped modern Australian country music by infusing his influences of John Mellencamp, The Band and The Angels with the storytelling ethos of Slim Dusty and his lyrical insight, sharp wit and empathy for the average working man. This combined with his handsome good looks and country charm ensured there was no stopping his success across all demographics.  In 2018, Blundell’s music was the focal point of the compilation album, “30 Years of Pride – A Tribute to James Blundell”. The who’s who of Australian music joined with some of today’s most exciting new artists to reimagine some of his biggest and best loved songs. Adam Brand joined Blundell for a new duet of “This Road”, Tania Kernaghan put her unique stamp on “Rain On A Tin Roof” while rising star, Jonny Taylor makes “Amsterdam Breakfast” his own. The album also features artists including Drew McAlister, Bec Lavelle, Brewn, Ben Ransom, Paul Costa, Cameron Daddo, D Henry Fenton, Ingrid Mae and James’ teenage sons, Briar and Travis. There’s also a special group performance of “Way Out West” which was Blundell’s biggest hit in 1992.  James Blundell is one of only a handful of today’s country artists who live the authentic life of a country singer. When he’s not touring - he’s managing his family owned property in Stanthorpe QLD. He is an artist of substance and longevity thanks to his unique perspective showcased through song.  JADE HOLLAND Regional Queensland based singer and songwriter, Jade Holland, makes a welcome return in 2022 with her brand-new single ‘Summertime, Sunshine and You” due for international release on 18 February 2022. Following on from the number one Australian Country Radio success of “Fight for it”, the official anthem for the 2021 Walk for Awareness, “Summertime” sees a return to Holland’s country pop roots and is the catchy feel-good song of 2022 that keeps us longing for the beach all year round. “Living in Queensland, the climate and lifestyle are just so unique and beautiful, it’s like falling in love every day. After so many songs about heart break, I wanted to feel the sweetness of love in a song that puts me right back into summer mode regardless of what time of year it is.” Holland shares. With her next album due for release in November 2022, “Summertime” builds the bridge for this country girl’s catalogue of songs from heart break right through to love and marks the beginning of a new chapter in her journey in music. “Being unable to travel and tour has led me to a deeper understanding of myself as an artist. The stories that I share about love and life in a small Aussie country town reflect a sentiment that so many people relate to.” Holland adds that ‘Summertime, Sunshine and You’ is the perfect taste of what’s to come from her - musically and as a female artist. LAURA FRANK "An incredible songwriter & vocalist, Laura is a true asset to Australia's country music scene.” Undercover Artist Festival Director & disability in the arts advocate, Madeleine Little With two number one songs in the past 12 months, Laura Frank is THE Australian Country Artist to watch. "Simple Girl" was on high rotation on commercial network FLOW FM across Australia and her latest release, The Road, is on high rotation on Australian Country radio and Coles Radio. About to commence her THE ROAD tour, Frank's army of fans THE FRANK TRAIN follow her to shows across the country. Powerful vocals, authentic storytelling and a show filled with energy and a packed dance floor, Frank is a force to be reckoned with on the Aussie Country scene. TYLA RODRIGUES Pop/Country Singer who is quickly making her mark on the Brisbane music scene. Growing up with the sounds of Soul/R&B and Country, Tyla brings a modern, soulful tone to her country/pop repertoire. Tyla has made her mark in Brisbane through the 97.3FM Vegas Rayz (Band that Brisbane Built) and has since performed at various higher profile festivals, events and venues, including the Triffid. Outside of the band, Tylas’ style is influenced by the sounds of Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Lauren Hill and leading into Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Luke Combs and Chris Stapleton. From this, she has created her unique country/pop style that incorporates the twangy love of classic country with soulful R&B.

Dean Lewis - Sad Boi Winter Summer Tour

TEG Van Egmond is thrilled to announce that one of Australia’s most accomplished singer/songwriters – the multiple-award-winning, multiple-Platinum-certified global superstar Dean Lewis – will embark on an Australian tour, taking in 15 cities and regional centres, this November and December. His ‘Sad Boi Winter Summer’ tour has been electrifying audiences throughout North America and Europe in recent months and now it’s finally Australia’s turn to experience Dean’s signature sound in the flesh.“Up until now, it had been two-and-a-half years since I toured with a proper band and I can’t wait to finally perform for my fans all around Australia once again,”Dean Lewissays. “I love to connect with my fans in person and many of my new songs haven’t even been performed live for my homeland fans yet! I find my songs work best when I get personal, when I write from my own experience, and it’s actually through performing them live that a song’s purpose becomes fully realised – I get to look at all your faces to make sure I’ve done my job, writing songs that move people and worm their way into your hearts.”“Live streaming events definitely served their purpose, but I’m so grateful to have been able to return to touring and living out my dream night after night – I will never take these precious moments for granted again. Hearing my lyrics sung back at me just never gets old, so don’t be shy!Only a handful of artists are fortunate enough to achieve both critical acclaim and commercial success off the back of a debut single release. Dean Lewis is part of this exclusive club thanks to his global smash hit ‘Waves’ (2016), which landed key syncs in some hugely popular American TV series including ‘Suits’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Riverdale’ and the ‘Magnum P.I’ remake. ‘Be Alright’ (2018), Dean’s follow-up single, made an even bigger impact, going Platinum+ in 22 countries and topping the ARIA Singles Chart for five weeks! Dean has sold 3.6M+ albums and EPs worldwide and his music has attracted 7+ billionstreams to date. He was welcomed into the Spotify Billions club when ‘Be Alright’ surpassed 1 billion streams and has over 1.1M YouTube and 1.3M Tik Tok followers. His most recent single ‘Falling Up’ is ARIA Gold-certified with 68M+ globalstreams. Lewis was an Apple Up Next artist in 2019 and played over 200 shows that year, including sold-out U.S. and Australian tours plus many shows and festival slots around Europe. That same year, Dean collaborated with Dutch superstar DJ/producer Martin Garrix on their hit single ‘Used To Love’ and kicked another bucketlist career goal when he performed at the AFL Grand Final. Off the back of just one album release – 2019’s chart-topping, multiple-award-winning, multiple-Platinum-certified ‘A Place We Knew’ – Dean has cultivated and captivated a huge global fanbase. After ‘Half A Man’ was performed by a contestant on X Factor in Denmark earlier this year, this track from his debut album received a second life when it flew to the top of the Danish charts. After Dean performed his latest single ‘Hurtless’ on X Factor Denmark’s finale, this impassioned breakup song climbed to #8 on the Danish charts and also topped the Swedish Heatseeker chart. “‘Hurtless’ has immediately become one of those special, connecting moments in the live shows,” Dean said during an interview. His first single release of 2022, ‘Hurtless’ was preceded by 2021’s ‘Looks Like Me’ and ‘Falling Up’ and continues to receive high rotation on radio stations globally. Make sure you’re in the audience to help Dean celebrate his endless, ongoing list of global achievements. It doesn’t get much better than watching one of Australia’s finest voices bringing his universally relatable songs, which regularly flood our playlists, to life.Supporting Dean Lewis on his Australian tour is Blake Rose, who Dean personally selected after hearing his music on Spotify. Hailing from Perth, Blakehashad a keen musical curiosity for as long as he can remember. One of the first instruments he everpicked up was the didgeridoo, followed by a guitar which he taught himself to play at age 12. It was a 3-month-long camping trip around Australia with his family that saw Rose really begin to develop into the songwriter he is today. As they drove from campsite to campsite, teenage Rose started to write down his own songs in the back of his family car.On the return home, he began to experiment with GarageBand and Pro Tools, falling in love with the idea of creating a song from start to finish.Taking to the streets of Perth to busk as a teenager, he quickly discovered his love for live performance. Blake Rose brings a depth to his music that is wise beyond his years. Marked by profound and picturesque lyricism, his songs are vibrant, powerful, and deeply authentic.General public tickets go on sale at 10am Monday 20 JuneHead to TEG VAN EGMOND for all ticketing and tour information.Price From: $79.9

Burleigh Bowls Club - Silent Disco

About The Burleigh Bowls Club will be hosting a Silent Disco on the 11th of November. A silent disco involves the patrons wearing a set of headphones that can link in to three different channels, which allows the user to have control over what they're listening to. There will be a DJ on the night playing music through the first channel, however if you feel like something different simply change the channel on your headset to switch to pre loaded playlists with different genres of music to suit your preference at that time. Having a set of headphones playing the music allows patrons to take them off when they feel like having a break, ordering a drink or having a chat with mates. A Silent Disco provides the perfect "club" setting, with the ability to stop the music at your leisure. Date Fri 11 Nov 2022 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM (UTC+10) Burleigh Bowls ClubConnor Street, Burleigh Heads Queensland 4220

    Colin Hay

Considered by critics as one of the most revered storytellers on the live music scene, Colin Hay is set to grace Australia in November with a highly anticipated solo jaunt (the first solo tour Down Under in years) to promote his new album. Described by American Songwriter as ‘an album for the ages’, Hay’s latest body of work, Now and The Evermore, has been praised by reviewers for embodying all the elements of good storytelling and artistry. Few performers can hold an audience hostage with a relatable yarn like Colin Hay can. These intermissions between songs are the comic relief that offsets the brilliance of his musicality. There’s a sense of reckoning and realisation in each track that cuts deeply but leaves audiences feeling strangely optimistic. The former front man of seminal 80s outfit Men At Work has released fifteen albums in the course of a successful solo career that spans over three decades and has recently been touring the US with Ringo Starr and His All-Star Band. He looks forward to giving Australia a taste of his latest work.
