So Carrie Bradshaw is your spirit animal and shopping is your cardio? We can relate. Who doesn’t love a spot of shopping and the thrilling feeling of finding that one-off piece or absolute bargain that’s totally destined for you? Whether it’s fashion, shoes, beauty or homewares, the Gold Coast is jam-packed with shopping hubs a-plenty just waiting to be discovered. Not sure where to start? Here’s your guide to where you can shop up a storm in our stylish, seaside city.

JAMES STREET  |  Burleigh Heads

Nestled in the heart of Burleigh Heads is James Street, a bustling thoroughfare filled with quaint boutiques selling everything from fashion to décor, art and accessories. Vintage enthusiasts will adore Miss Brown Vintage whose range of upcycled threads will make your inner hipster swoon. If homewares are on the cards, the eclectic Maison & Maison or the luxe Emporium on James are absolute musts, and if you’re coastally inclined, wander on into Sean Scott Boutique for trendy pieces and gorgeous photographs inspired by seaside living.

Whoever said money couldn’t buy happiness obviously doesn’t know where to shop! With more designer labels under one roof than anywhere else in the country, it’s safe to say Pacific Fair is a fashion devotee’s dream. Think Louis V, Gucci, Prada, Christian Louboutin, Tiffany’s, Givenchy – mmmhmmm, you’ll sure be feeling fancy with a high-end spree at this shopping mecca. The line-up of Aussie designers is equally as impressive too, with labels like Zimmermann, Dion Lee, Manning Cartell, Aje and Scanlan Theodore all calling ‘Pac Fair’ home… and did we mention the sparkling fountains and tropical gardens? Splashin’ that cash never looked so good. Don’t worry though – there are still a plethora of wallet-friendly retailers here to plunder, particularly when sale season swings into town.

If your bank balance is looking a little bleak but your eagerness for snagging a sale is still up there, enter Harbour Town Outlet Shopping Centre. A utopia for bargain hunters, this hotspot is full to the brim with discounts from an assortment of topnotch brands like Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Sheridan, Lacoste, Royal Doulton, Coach and Kathmandu, just to name a few.

New kid on the block Cornerstone Stores is already a local institution. Architecturally designed, this contemporary-style precinct is home to a number of carefully curated boutiques stocking all kinds of goods, from womenswear to interiors, beauty products and even plants. Find sustainably sourced lifestyle items at Prae Store, artisanal fashion at Kind Curations, luscious greenery and décor at The Borrowed Nursery and the most adorable kidswear designs at Little Loves.

Calling all shop-a-holics! With over 400 stores to choose from, Robina Town Centre is one of the largest shopping destinations on the Coast. You’ll find all the go-tos here like Sephora, Myer, David Jones, and H&M; you’ll also find popular retail brands and locally owned designer boutiques like the super stylish Issue 1. Tech-heads will be in their element at the city’s only Apple flagship, and as for the kids? Let them loose in Queensland’s first Toymate store. For the foodies, the adjoining precinct ‘The Kitchens’ is a standout, thanks to its culinary marketplace filled with organic produce, artisanal delicacies and drool-worthy food vendors.

THE STRAND  |  Coolangatta

Recently refurbished with all the necessities and a heap of stellar restaurants (with beachfront views, no less), it’s easy to see why The Strand is Coolie’s signature shopping and dining destination. Within its walls you’ll find the little gem, Salt Living. As its name suggests, Salt Living offers a curated collection of coastal inspired fashion, homewares and accessories with a bunch of cool brands like Zulu & Zephyr, The Beach People and Peony Swimwear all on offer.

Beauty addicts with a conscious – this one’s for you. The Clean Beauty Market is an environmentally friendly beauty emporium with a unique (but awesome!) approach to makeup and skincare. Peruse its impressive range of all-natural, cruelty-free products, book in for a personalised makeup application or indulge in one of their amazing organic facials. Guaranteed these gals will make you fill a million bucks in no time.

Tucked up in Southport, the Brickworks Centre is a progressive and upmarket shopping hub that’s home to a number of charming stores and sophisticated brands. If you’re on the hunt for homewares, you’ll particularly love this centre. There’s the lavish St. Barts store, Max Sparrow, King Living and Freedom Furniture. Art aficionados also need to venture here and pay a visit to the exquisite Gallery One, and for the food lovers? Get in amongst the local faves at Cardamom Pod, Providore and the iconic Ferry Rd Markets.

Operating for more than 30 years in our beautiful sunshine state, Art & Craft On The Coast is a popular community market held year-round for locals and travellers who want a shopping experience that’s a bit different to the rest. Showcasing a range of up to 200 market stalls, there’s an assortment of products for sale, ideal for souvenirs, unique gifts and of course, eating. You’ll also catch local artists perform live each Sunday, at the following iconic beachfront locations:
• Kurrawa Park, Broadbeach: The first and third Sunday of each month.
• Queens Elizabeth Park, Coolangatta: The second and (occasionally) fourth Sunday
• Justins Park, Burleigh Heads: The last Sunday of the month
