Hannah Kent is the brilliant young Australian author “of sad, stunning books”; books that grapple with, and reshape difficult stories from history, into new perspectives, and in the process, reveal universal truths, applicable to myriad situations. Kent has, in her meteoric writing career, created an award-winning, debut novel, Burial Rites, a second novel, The Good People and her latest book, Devotion. 2013’s Burial Rites and 2016’s The Good People are pieces of historical fiction linked to real people and events in 19th-century Iceland and Ireland respectively.
