Hyundai Australian Boardriders Battle 2024
They’re so excited to see the Hyundai Australian Boardriders Battle Grand Final move to the Gold Coast’s world-famous point break at Burleigh Heads for the next three years. The Hyundai Australian Boardriders Battle (ABB) is one of the most highly anticipated events on the Surfing Australia calendar. Each year, the ABB pits the best boardrider clubs from each state against one another in an epic surfing battle that culminates in a world-renowned Grand Final where Australia’s best boardrider club is decided. The first Grand Final on the Gold Coast will be held 9-10 March 2024. The Pho3nix Kids Gold Coast Triathlon is a free, fun participation based non-competitive event. Bike / Run, Swim / Run and Fun Run options also available. Each child will receive a tshirt, swimming cap and finishers medal.

Pho3nix Gold Coast Triathlon - Luke Harrop Memorial
The Pho3nix Gold Coast Tri – Luke Harrop Memorial has long been known as the triathlon for triathletes – if there is one race on the calendar not to miss, this is it. Come and join in some fast and flat racing at the beautiful Broadwater Parklands at the northern end of the Gold Coast. With Sprint, Enticer and Pho3nix Kids Triathlon options available, there is something for everyone. (There is even a 1km kids run for some fun!) Why not make a weekend of it and bring the kids down to "Try a Tri" in the Pho3nix Kids Triathlon, before you take on your own race on the Sunday! It's completely free.

Kalbar Sunflower Festival
An opportunity for tourists to visit a sunflower farm based at Kalbar in the picturesque Scenic Rim Region, walk among half a million sunflowers and totally immerse themselves in the beauty and happiness they provide. Excellent photography opportunities, a great event for the whole family. As well as the excitement of being up close and personal with acres of sunflowers, there is entertainment, helicopter rides over the sunflowers and adjacent farmlands, merchandise as well as food and beverages on sale. Workshops for children, and for the adults sunflower art, cooking classes, photography and craft. Experience the River 94.9 4 acre sunflower maze. 2024 Cooly Classic & Gold Coast Swim Week
It’s official, the Gold Coast is now home to Australia’s largest swimming festival! Gold Coast Swim Week is a week-long celebration of swimming that sees two existing major events join forces, plus leading coaches and special guests hosting clinics and training sessions at Gold Coast beaches and pools. On Sunday April 21, the Cooly Classic - a rare opportunity to swim a course with some of Australia’s most revered surf breaks as your backdrop – Snapper Rocks, Coolangatta and Kirra. There are four distances, from 1km to 5km, but it’s always the 2.0km Cooly Classic from Snapper Rocks to Kirra Beach which attracts the masses. Your Start line, Snapper Rocks, is one of the world’s most famous surf breaks. Then, your course is a straight line to Kirra Beach, passing Rainbow Bay, Greenmount and Coolangatta Beaches as you swim. On the following weekend, Sunday April 28 , Swim the Gold Coast, a marathon distance for individuals and teams that starts at Burleigh Heads and finishes at Surfers Paradise. Throughout the week, there’ll be a range of small group sessions and clinics with guest coaches. This is a chance to receive specialist coaching and also swim with local squads at some of the Gold Coast’s favourite open water training locations.

Live Morris Dancing
Morris dance is a form of English folk dance usually accompanied by music. It is based on rhythmic stepping and the execution of choreographed figures by a group of dancers, usually wearing bell pads on their shins. Implements such as sticks, swords and handkerchiefs may also be wielded by the dancers. In a small number of dances for one or two people, steps are near and across a pair of clay tobacco pipes laid one across the other on the floor. The earliest known and surviving English written mention of Morris dance is dated to 1448, and records the payment of seven shillings to Morris dancers by the Goldsmiths' Company in London. Further mentions of Morris dancing occur in the late fifteenth century, and there are also early records such as bishops' "Visitation Articles" mention sword dancing, guising and other dancing activities, as well as mumming plays. Join them on an evening of dance and music as they celebrate old traditions of historic England. Morris Dancers will be performing on both May Day and the Queens Birthday Long weekend Holiday Mondays from 1pm.

Blues on Broadbeach will return for its 23rd year from 16 - 19 May, 2024! Held throughout the beautiful Broadbeach precinct across four days, the festival is a celebration of live rhythm and blues music featuring artists from around the world. The 2023 lineup included international and national legends like acoustic guitar icon Tommy Emmanuel, Don Walker, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Emma Donovan & The Putbacks, Chris Cheney, Memphis’ own Marcus Scott and the Bo-Keys (USA), and so many more. fisiocrem GC30 Main Beach
The fisiocrem GC30 Main Beach returns Sunday 19 May, 2024 with an event filled with nature, ocean views and good vibes! With a course that combines closed roads and some of the best running trails the Gold Coast has to offer, this multi-distance event has a challenge for everyone, including 30km, 15km, 7.5km and Kids Dash events! The 30km event provides the ideal stepping stone distance between Half-Marathon and Marathon. The course, starts and finishes from Doug Jennings Park on Seaworld Drive and rewards runners with some of the best run views around.
